With New Hampshire to the south and Sherbrooke to the west, the Haut-Saint-François RCM is made up of 14 vibrant municipalities that all offer excellent quality of life, a warm welcome and highly competitive establishment costs for both citizens and businesses.
Society
The people of Haut-Saint-François are proud of and loyal to their region and their employers. Their warmth and commitment contribute to a vibrant social environment. The primary schools and the vocational school are a comfortable size and offer high-calibre activities. A very wide range of family recreational and outdoor activities is also available.
Economy
The Parc bioalimentaire de l’Estrie (Estrie Bio-Food Park) and the Parc environnemental (Environmental Park), the rail link and the regional airport (direct flights to Toronto) are worth mentioning. The many farms diversify their production and processing to a family scale or a more automated approach. Forest land, which covers 80% of the RCM, and the biomass as a whole provide numerous business opportunities. Most municipalities have industrial facilities and cost-competitive sites with amenities. The RCM has more than 125 industries and 1000 enterprises.
